Florida has started its COVID-19 vaccination program. The priority groups receiving the COVID-19 vaccine as of now are: healthcare workers, long-term care facility staff and people over the age of 65.
Governor Ron DeSantis said all 67 Florida counties will have vaccines by January 1st (the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine). The vaccines will be provided to local health departments and hospitals to distribute within their communities.

The vaccine is not expected to be available to the general population, including younger residents/non-frontline workers, until late spring. Florida is home to more than 4 million people 65 and older.
