Sheri brings extensive expertise to her role in helping Aging Wisely clients when they have weekend and overnight crises. She works closely with her Aging Wisely team members to ensure consistent care for clients and triage urgent situations. Sheri is skilled at making clients and families feel comfortable during difficult times and interacting with providers to get the best possible care for clients. Her organizational skills enable her to smoothly navigate any challenges that arise, follow up and provide thorough communication.

Sheri has special expertise in case management under Florida’s Medicaid programs, working for the past few years as an Intake Specialist and Provider Relations Coordinator for the Suncoast PACE program. She conducts assessments and serves as a liaison with care providers. Sheri previously led the care management team in another Florida Medicaid program, Long Term Care Diversion.

Sheri also worked in community care for disabled adults serving as a Case Management Supervisor and Program Coordinator. This wealth of experience means that Sheri is not only adept at case management and problem-solving but also knowledgeable about a wide range of community resources. Throughout her career, Sheri has developed her skills with training courses and professional certifications.

Sheri was named Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Business Woman of the Year in Social Services in 2007. She received a social services award from United Way and Centers for Independent Living.

Sheri has been integral in several large advocacy projects. She obtained grant funding for hurricane preparedness backpacks for disabled clients and accessed specialized care and placement for disabled adults for emergency evacuation. She also helped disabled clients receive ADT voice-activated emergency systems. Sheri developed the care management manual for a local Medicaid managed care program.

Sheri thinks of her work as much more than a job; helping others gives her life purpose. Her goal is to encourage independence and help clients maintain dignity and respect with all the options available to them. Sheri has a unique perspective on hospitalization and disability stemming from personal experiences. Through this perspective and her extensive experience, Sheri has proven to be a compassionate advocate, counselor and listener.

Sheri is a seventh generation Floridian, born and raised in Ozona. One of her greatest joys is to spend time with her“grandperfect”, Leland.

Sheri has diverse talents and accomplishments. She is a published author and also runs her own business designing and selling jewelry. She lends her talents to charitable causes, ranging from Suncoast Hospice to Links of Hope and Homes for Our Troops. Sheri volunteered at a burn unit in Haiti and served as Chairman of Christian Education and Director of Youth Ministries at a Crystal Beach church.
