Dunedin Florida

Dunedin is one of the great local treasures in our area. Dunedin has been recognized as an ideal place to live and work, featured in Southern Living, Coastal Living, Money magazine and more. Destination Seeker named it as one of the 15 Best Places to Live in Florida and Caladesi Island State Park was named best public beach in America. So, if you live in the area why not spend a great day out in delightful Dunedin?

Here are our senior concierge team’s suggestions, tips and resources for enjoying this delightful town.

Places of Interest in Dunedin

Dunedin Golf Club is open to the public and offers great value golfing. The course was designed by Donald Ross and was the PGA National Golf Course from 1945 to 1962. Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead were just a few of the great golfers who played here.

We suggest taking in a Dunedin Blue Jays game (or Toronto Blue Jays spring training game). Older baseball fans can join the Silver Jays Club to get season tickets for just $79 (plus extra benefits like a t-shirt, discounts and a newsletter)! They have various promotions so check DunedinBlueJays.com for schedule, promos, seating chart and parking info. We also recommend the Spring Training connection website for an insider’s guide to stadiums and accessibility.

Stroll around the creative and interesting shops of downtown Dunedin, a very walkable area where you can also enjoy all types of cuisines at the many restaurants. Within a couple blocks you’ll find Casa Tina for authentic Mexican cuisine and a fun atmosphere, Kelly’s for Just About Anything for a great breakfast/brunch (and just about anything else you could want, plus a nice outdoor patio for food or cocktails), Cafe Alfresco, Hog Island Fish Camp, The Living Room, Flanagan’s Irish Pub, The Dunedin Smokehouse and Sea Sea Riders. Bon Appetit offers stunning waterfront views. Black Pearl is a cozy, romantic spot when you want something a little fancy. For beer lovers, check out the Dunedin Brewery. If you’re craving a Philly cheese steak, Delco’s is just down the road.

While you’re there, visit the Dunedin Historical Museum, located in the 1923 Atlantic Coast Railroad Station in the heart of downtown. You can learn about the history of Dunedin and see special exhibits.

If you don’t have your own boat docked at the Dunedin marina, check out charter services for fishing or sightseeing.

Honeymoon Island is a great place for wildlife viewing, picnicking or enjoying outdoor activities. Visit their site for events, fees (there is a per vehicle daily fee) and disability accommodation requests. You can take the ferry over to Caladesi Island from here, about a 20 minute ride. You can get a beach wheelchair there. It is best to check the state parks website and complete an accommodation request or call to get more information if you’re concerned about accessibility. Annual memberships are available and Veterans can get discounts. These beaches are some of the best in the U.S. so they are well worth a visit and a great place for bird watchers and nature lovers!
