Clocking in and out of your shift not only gives us the information we need to process payroll, it is also a way for us to know that you were with your patient. Clocking in and out is part of your documentation as a Care Partner.

Clocking in and out also allows us to meet the federal requirements for Electronic Visit Verification, or EVV, which allows us to effectively bill for services Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance companies.

You can clock in and out at a client’s home in one of two ways.

First, let’s talk about telephony. You might have used this system before. When you use this option, you clock in and out using the client’s landline phone. Here’s how to do it:

  • When you arrive at a client’s home, clock in right away by using their landline to dial (844) 203-2288. You’ll hear an automated recording verifying your shift, your name, and the client’s name. Follow the prompts to confirm and clock in. You’ll also hear the tasks you will be required to complete during the shift.
  • Use the same phone number to clock out for the day. You’ll be prompted to record if you completed your assigned tasks. Follow the prompts to complete that documentation. Once you do that, you’ll hear the automated recording tell you that you are officially clocking out. When you hear “goodbye”, you may hang up and leave the client’s home.

Telephony was the standard for documenting visits in the past. However, now Care Partners have the option of making things even easier with an app. At Easy Living, we use the app ClearCareGo. You can download it from the App Store or the Play Store. You’ll be prompted to input your email and a password of your choice. Then, you’ll have access to a variety of options that will help you communicate with us.

We’ll talk a lot about ClearCareGo throughout this training, but let’s start with how to clock in and clock out using the app. Your agency representative will show you how to allow the app to access your location and how to use the SHIFTS tab to clock in and out.

Let’s take a pause here so that you can download the ClearCareGo app and set up your Care Partner account. You can also take some time to explore the tabs. Remember to ask your on-site agency representative any questions you have while setting up your account.
